Streamwood man charged with fighting and biting woman at Bartlett restaurant

A Streamwood man faces charges of aggravated battery, assault and driving under the influence of alcohol after police say he bit a woman at a Bartlett restaurant Monday.

Kirk Hoffman, 51, was charged New Year’s Day with aggravated battery in a public place as well as the misdemeanors of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and DUI, according to police.

Bartlett police said that, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday, officers were called for a disturbance at a restaurant on the 1100 block of West Lake Street. There they were told Hoffman had been arguing with the woman but left before police arrived.

Police allege Hoffman returned to the restaurant intoxicated at about 7:30 p.m. and got into a fight with the same woman: He is accused of throwing plates at her before biting her on the arm, police said.

After being charged, Hoffman was brought to the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows on Tuesday to await a pre-trial detention hearing. He was not listed among the Cook County Jail’s current inmates on Wednesday.
