Mount Prospect man charged in killing at Des Plaines restaurant
A 42-year-old Mount Prospect man faces a first-degree murder charge in connection with a fatal stabbing last week at a Burger King in Des Plaines, authorities said Sunday.
Antonio Solorio, of the 1600 block of West Cottonwood Lane, was identified through several witness accounts as well as surveillance footage, Des Plaines police said.
Solorio was arrested Friday afternoon outside a relative’s home in Streamwood and later gave a full confession to investigators, according to police.
Police said Solorio and Mario Jara-Antemante, 28, of Mount Prospect had a confrontation outside the restaurant shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday. Jara-Antemante then was attacked inside the business at 860 S. Elmhurst Road and later pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Police said Sunday that their investigation determined that Solorio and Jara-Antemante knew each other prior to Wednesday and shared several acquaintances. Police did not disclose a potential motive for the confrontation.
Solorio remained in custody Sunday awaiting a pretrial detention hearing in Cook County court.
