Man faces DUI charge after crashing into Bartlett garage
A Winfield man has been charged with driving under the influence after crashing into a garage in Bartlett on Christmas Eve, police said.
Aidan Robbins, 24, was charged with the Class A misdemeanor and cited for failure to stop at an intersection and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license on his person.
Bartlett police officers responded to the area of Oneida and Chase avenues about 8:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a gray Honda Accord driving recklessly and disobeying stop signs.
Police allege the same vehicle then crashed into a garage on the 100 block of Elizabeth Court, and that Robbins displayed signs of being under the influence of alcohol when he was found to be the sole occupant.
He was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The garage sustained minimal damage and no residents were displaced.
Robbins received a pretrial release and is scheduled to next appear Jan. 18 at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
