Bloomingdale Chamber gives back to the community with raffle donation to three local food pantries
The Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the proceeds from their annual Grand Raffle will be making an impact in the community.
This year, the chamber has chosen to allocate the funds to support three area food pantries, demonstrating their commitment to addressing local needs and fostering a stronger, more resilient community.
The three pantries receiving $750 each from a portion of the proceeds from the Grand Raffle are the Bloomingdale Township Food Pantry, Roselle UMC Community Food Pantry, and Neighborhood Food Pantries.
Cindy Allston, president/CEO of the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce, expressed the organization's enthusiasm for supporting the local food pantries: "We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community that has supported us throughout the years. The decision to direct the Grand Raffle proceeds toward local food pantries reflects our commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of our community. We wish it was more, but we only sold just over 300 tickets. Thanks to the chamber members who helped us reach our minimum goal of 300 tickets so we could award full prizes and have enough for the food pantries."
The Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce encourages community members to join them in supporting these vital local organizations by contributing their time, resources, or donations.
Every effort, no matter how small, contributes to the overall well-being of the community. Food pantries have seen increased demands and empty shelves.
The most desired items are condiments, proteins, and pastas. Staff and volunteers want to be able to assemble a complete meal for the families. There are several locations in the community to donate food along with going straight to the food pantries.
This is not the only philanthropic endeavor this holiday season for the chamber, currently it has a Parade of Gingerbread Houses where residents vote for their favorite house by making a donation into the ballot box at each location. All money collected will go to support the homeless. A map of the 20 local businesses participating can be found at BloomingdaleHolidays.com.
