Naperville Park Board recognizes Scouts for Eagle projects

At the Dec. 14 park board meeting, Naperville Park District Board President Mary Gibson recognized nine scouts who recently completed Eagle projects at the park district.

President Gibson noted that these projects added a variety of high-quality improvements to the local parks.

The two Scouts who were able to attend the meeting were Jack Benton, who built eight fishing line collectors at several ponds, and Matthew Tam, who redefined a pathway at Hunters Woods to provide better access for those who enjoy walking through the natural areas at this park.

The other scouts who were recognized were:

  • Ava Morales who built planter boxes to replace the original boxes at Knoch Knolls Park;
  • Brady Jones who built and installed a bench on the driving range at Springbrook Golf Course;
  • Fionn Pianetto who built two wood benches for the first and 10th tees at Springbrook Golf Course;
  • Jett Morales who built an information kiosk at DuPage River Sports Complex;
  • Sanjal Shrestha who built an information kiosk at Knoch Knolls Park;
  • Kevin Pankow who removed highly invasive teasel plants at May Watts Park;
  • Max Smith who redesigned and rebuilt compost bins at the Ron Ory Community Garden Plots.
