Glenview man charged with child pornography

A Glenview man has been charged with three counts of manufacturing child pornography.

Following a detention hearing Wednesday in Skokie, Bruce Claver, 58, of the 3000 block of Knollwood Lane, was placed on electronic monitoring, according to the Cook County sheriff’s website.

If convicted, Claver faces between six and 30 years in prison on each charge. Probation is not available.

Glenview police — in cooperation with the U.S. Secret Service, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Cook County sheriff’s police and the Cook County state’s attorney — launched an investigation Dec. 1 after Secret Service agents identified Claver as a person posting child pornography online.

He next appears in court on Jan. 22.
