Dr. W. Brent Stanford installed as Chicago Dental Society's South Suburban branch director
A practicing dentist for over 30 years, W. Brent Stanford, D.D.S., L.T.D, of Homewood, Illinois, was installed as Chicago Dental Society's (CDS) South Suburban Branch Director on Nov. 12. Dr. Stanford has held multiple leadership positions within the CDS South Suburban branch, including treasurer and president.
As South Suburban Branch Director, Dr. Stanford will work with South Suburban Branch members, drive engagement, recruit members, and assist with preparations for the 159th Midwinter Meeting, which will be held at McCormick Place West in Chicago, February 22 - 24, 2024. The Midwinter Meeting is CDS' annual scientific meeting and one of the dental industry's premier events. The 2024 event will provide attendees with access to more than 230 world-class courses taught by today's leaders in the dental profession, hundreds of live exhibits to test the latest dental innovations, and countless networking opportunities with colleagues and friends.
In addition to his involvement with CDS, Dr. Stanford is a member of the American Dental Association, American College of Dentists, and Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS). Dr. Stanford has served on the ISDS Sunset Review Committee for revisions of the Illinois Dental Practice Act and as President of his local Rotary Club. He recently transitioned his solo practice to the Center for Dental Excellence in Flossmoor, Illinois, where he practices as an Associate Dentist. Dr. Stanford is a Clinical Assistant Instructor at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Dentistry. He also has worked part-time for the Illinois State Prison Dental Services and Army National Guard Dental Services to provide dental services to the U.S. military prior to deployment.
Dr. Stanford holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Loyola University of Chicago and earned his dental degree from Northwestern University School of Dentistry. He has been married 40 years to Sharon Stanford who works for the American Dental Association as Director of Standards. He has a son, Sean, who lives in Denver and a daughter, Madelaine Buckels, who along with her husband, Jonah, works abroad as cruise ship entertainers with Regent Seven Seas. Dr. Stanford is an avid gardener and enjoys photography and bike riding.
Established in 1864, CDS is the largest local component of the American Dental Association, with more than 4,000 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
