Dr. Denise Hale installed as 2024 president-elect of the Chicago Dental Society

Denise Hale, D.D.S., of Orland Park, Illinois, was sworn in as the 2024 president-elect of the Chicago Dental Society on Nov. 12.

Hale has more than three decades of experience practicing general dentistry and has previously served as secretary, treasurer, and vice president of the society as well as held multiple leadership positions within the CDS Southwest Branch, including director and president.

As president-elect, Dr. Hale will be a pivotal force in supporting membership and driving attendance for the 159th Midwinter Meeting, which will be held at McCormick Place West in Chicago, Feb. 22-24, 2024. The Midwinter Meeting is CDS' annual scientific meeting and one of the dental industry's premier events. The 2024 event will provide attendees with access to more than 230 world-class courses taught by today's leaders in the dental profession, hundreds of live exhibits to test the latest dental innovations, and countless networking opportunities with colleagues and friends.

Dr. Hale is an active participant in driving dentistry forward, and she holds multiple leadership roles outside of CDS, including serving as an American Dental Association Delegate and Vice President of Dental Lifeline Network, a nonprofit providing fragile populations access to dental care. She has also served on the Illinois State Dental Society board of trustees, ISDS House of Delegates, ISDS public relations committee (recruitment and retention team leader), membership committee, and governmental affairs committee. She is involved with DENT-IL PAC, where she has served as President, and currently is the Membership Chair. She is a fellow of the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the American College of Dentists. In addition, Dr. Hale is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry, served on the board of The Hills Chamber of Commerce, and practices in Palos Hills, Illinois.

Dr. Hale holds a bachelor's degree from Loyola University of Chicago and earned her dental degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. She lives in Orland Park, Illinois, with her husband Robert Sorpassa and has two grown children, Christian and Sara. Dr. Hale is actively involved in her church as a Lector, Eucharist Minister, CRHP Continuation Committee member, and Baptism Greeter. When she's not working, which she loves most, she enjoys cooking, baking, and playing cards and board games.

Established in 1864, CDS is the largest local component of the American Dental Association, with more than 4,000 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
