Weekend of holiday activities in Wauconda

A weekend of festivities in Wauconda starts at 5 p.m. Saturday with the holiday lights parade kickoff and tree lighting at the Wauconda Park District, 328 N. Main St.

Santa then will meander through Wauconda, Island Lake, Lakemoor and Port Barrington. Follow the route on a Santa tracker on the Wauconda Holiday Walk Facebook page.

The Holiday Walk on Main Street from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday features a variety of activities and events between Bangs Street and Route 176. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand. Activities include a Candyland scavenger hunt, holiday trolley, gingerbread decorating contest, face painting, children's crafts and games, caroling, tree decorating and more.
