Waubonsee hosts holiday concerts this month

This holiday season, Waubonsee Community College invites music enthusiasts and their families to attend one of several free musical concerts in December.

The concerts will feature traditional holiday music, various musical styles, and performing groups. All concerts are free and open to the public. The types of concerts and their dates are:

• Live Jazz: First Fridays in conjunction with downtown Aurora, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the Aurora downtown campus;

• Jazz Combo and Jazz Ensemble: Saturday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at the Sugar Grove campus, off Route 47;

• Steel Band: Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at the Sugar Grove campus;

• General Student Recital: Saturday, Dec. 9, at 3 p.m. in the Von Ohlen Hall, Room 114 at the Sugar Grove campus;

• Concert Band: Saturday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at the Sugar Grove campus;

• Choral Concert and Chamber Choir: Sunday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. in the auditorium at the Sugar Grove campus;

• Electronic Music Ensemble: Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 3:30 p.m. in the Von Ohlen Hall, Room 114 at the Sugar Grove campus.
