Blackhawks edge Seattle

Boris Katchouk, Jason Dickinson, Tyler Johnson and MacKenzie Entwistle scored goals in the first 31 minutes Tuesday, and the Blackhawks went on to post a 4-3 victory over Seattle at the United Center.

Petr Mrazek made 33 saves in net, and the Hawks (7-13-0) killed off a 63-second two-man advantage late in the game.

Dickinson has 5 goals in the last four games and 7 on the season. Johnson has 6 goals, halfway to his total from 2022-23.

Joey Anderson, recalled from Rockford last week, notched 2 assists and had 3 takeaways.

Katchouk opened the scoring at 8:54 of the first period when he slammed home a rebound off a shot from Seth Jones. Dickinson made it 2-0 just 89 seconds later off a one-timer from about 50 feet away.

Seattle (8-10-5) tied it 2-2 before the period ended, but Johnson and Entwistle notched second-period goals to put the Hawks ahead for good.

New guy:

The Blackhawks acquired Vancouver Canucks forward Anthony Beauvillier in exchange for a conditional fifth-round draft pick. Beauvillier has scored 15 or more goals in five of the last six seasons, but he has just 2 goals in 22 games while playing in mostly a fourth-line role. He was a first-round pick (28th overall) of the Islanders in 2015.

The 26-year-old Beauvillier is in the final year of a contract that carries a $4.15 million cap hit.

Slap shot:

Former Chicago Wolves forward Andrew Poturalski made his season debut for Seattle. Poturalski helped the Wolves win a Calder Cup in 2022, recording 28 goals and 73 assists. This was just the 29-year-old's fifth NHL game.
