'Candlelight & Gingerbread' returns Dec. 9 in Glen Ellyn

On Saturday, Dec. 9, the Glen Ellyn Historical Society presents "Candlelight and Gingerbread: A Victorian Holiday Celebration."

It will be 4 to 7 p.m. at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St.

At the history center, guests can craft Victorian-themed ornaments and enjoy snacks and hot chocolate.

See the gingerbread houses entered in the gingerbread house contest. The winners will be announced at 5 p.m. Award categories include: best group entry, best individual entry by age group, best depiction of Glen Ellyn building or event, and best depiction of historical building or event.

The Glen Ellyn Historical Society thanks Twig and Bloom Garden Club for decorating Stacy's Tavern for the holidays and the museum is open for guests to tour by candlelight.

Canterbury Carolers are performing beloved carols throughout the event.

Admission is $10 or $8 for history society members. Children are admitted free with paid adult.
