Two suspects wanted in connection with Mount Prospect shooting
Mount Prospect police are seeking two suspects in connection with a shooting Sunday that left a homeowner with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The shooting occurred just before 7:30 p.m. on the 100 block of North Maple Street.
Investigators said two men pulled up to a home in a dark-colored SUV. One suspect, wearing a reflective vest, approached the male homeowner at the door while the second suspect stood near the driveway.
An altercation between the homeowner and the suspect at the door ensued and the suspect shot the homeowner in the leg.
The two suspects ran to the SUV and fled the area, heading south on Maple Street.
The victim was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for treatment of the gunshot wound, which was not considered life-threatening.
The suspected shooter is described as a 6-foot-tall, middle-aged Hispanic man with a manicured beard, last seen wearing a black baseball cap and a reflective vest.
Based on evidence recovered at the shooting, police do not believe it was a random act.
