Northern Kane County Chamber recognizes inspiring community members and businesses

The Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce recently announced the recipients of its 2023 Awards of Excellence for community service and business excellence.

The individuals recognized for going above and beyond in their own Northern Kane County communities are: Lludi Coria, Village of Carpentersville; Marykay Harvey, Village of East Dundee; James Byrnes, Village of Gilberts; CM Parker and Kathy Eaton, Village of Sleepy Hollow; and Jack Festen, Village of West Dundee.

Local chamber businesses were also honored: Business of the Year, BMO Harris Bank; New Business of the Year, Liefde Bakery; Customer Excellence, Rosie O' Hare's; Leader of Distinction, Arlene De La Cruz, Megasentials Group; and Polynt Composites, Commitment to Community.

"We are pleased to honor all of these recipients who continually go the extra mile in helping others throughout our community," said Melissa Hernandez, president, Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce. "Our award-winning businesses embody leadership and an understanding of providing excellent customer service to their customers."

The 2023 Chamber Annual Awards dinner was held in October.

"Our theme of 'An Enchanted Garden' reflected the tone of the chamber as we are 'rooted in our community to help your business grow'," Hernandez said.

Chamber chair Jay Bennett of Edward Jones Investments in West Dundee thanked guest for their membership and support.

"We appreciate our members and your active participation in our chamber events," Bennett said, "and acknowledge the positive relationship and partnerships we have with all of five of our villages."

In addition, Bennett acknowledged chamber president Melissa Hernandez for her leadership throughout the year.

Members of the awards dinner committee were: chair Tiffanie Young, along with Ann Meyer, Tammy Ray, Yasmin Diaz, and Annie Kaiser.

The Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce is an advocate for business interests by identifying and following the needs of the business community through leadership, education, development, support and promotion. It represents the communities of Carpentersville, East Dundee, Gilberts, Sleepy Hollow, and West Dundee.
