Alpha Nu Chapter of DKG Hosts Re-enactment of Harriet Tubman

At their October 5 program meeting at Lambs Farm in Libertyville, the Alpha Nu chapter of DKG enjoyed a presentation of a re-enactment of Harriet Tubman's life. Poet, motivational speaker, author, and director of two educational plays, Sharon D. Epps delighted members with her portrayal of Harriet. She demonstrated the strength of this woman who would not give up on her quest to get slaves to freedom. Sharon, too, has had many struggles in her life. She is a dedicated, hard-working woman of faith who has found her passion in life through poetry and in helping others. When life gets her down, she turns to poetry to express her feelings and to try to make sense of the situation. Sharon has appeared on the John Walsh show, "Women Who Have Changed Their Lives". She was chosen to meet President Bush in 2002 for the Welfare to Work Partnership Incentive. and also met President Obama. Sharon's most recent accomplishment is the publication of her book, "My Cup Ain't Empty ... It's Full of Me".
