All items will be sorted, recycled and repurposed. Items that will not be accepted include appliances, furniture, tires, paints, carpeting, mattresses, metal, glass, paper, and hazardous waste.

The event will be held in the parking lot of the Palatine Township Center, at 721 S. Quentin Road, Palatine. Residents should enter the lot off westbound Illinois Avenue and simply follow the signs that guide them through the parking lot.

"This is a great opportunity for residents to keep reusable clothing, bedding and similar items out of landfills," said Andy-John G. Kalkounos, supervisor of Palatine Township.
