Record Bob is holding a Record Sale

Bob Szeliga is known to his friends, neighbors, and relatives as "Record Bob." He has been selling records off his driveway to local residents in Mount Prospect and nearby suburbs for 23-30 years.

What he enjoys the most is the conversations he has with customers that revolve around music.

"I learn new things every time I have a record sale," said Szeliga. "Record buyers are some of the most knowledgeable people regarding music. They love talking music and are as friendly of a group of people you will ever find."

Szeliga says he tries to price below retail prices found in used record stores while providing good quality records. Each sale he always has new product not seen before.

In the past 10 years, a few times a year, Szeliga sells with a couple old friends, Bob and Diane Hurns and Fred Prellberg. This sale Szeliga is doing alone and will be selling 3,000 plus records. His next sale is Saturday, Sept. 30. Details of the sale are:

Date: Saturday, Sept. 30

Time: 9:30-3:00

Location: 306 W. Hiawatha Trail, Mount Prospect

If you are looking to sell your record collection you can call or email Szeliga. Bob only sells at the record sales off his driveway. For information, (312) 480-5487 or bobszeliga@gmail.com. Contact him only to sell.
