Three winners named in Alpha Baking Co.'s first 'Name a Bread Truck' contest; 'Eye of the Kaiser' wins 1st place

Winners rising to the occasion for the first Alpha Baking Co.'s "Name a Bread Truck" contest were revealed at the company's Hermosa Park facility in Chicago. First-place winner Jim Evans of Park Ridge had the winning name, "Eye of the Kaiser," and helped to christen the newest member of Alpha Baking's fleet of trucks.

Additional winners included: "Optimus Rye" (submitted by Will Reynolds of Chicago) and "Bake Shore Drive" (submitted by Danielle Mitchell of Village of Lakewood).

"We were 'crumb-struck' by the number of creative names submitted by our bread-loving community," said Stephanie Powell, director of marketing for Alpha Baking Co. "Starting today, they'll be able to see the three newly named additions to the S. Rosen's and Natural Ovens fleet of trucks delivering fresh bread, buns, and rolls to stores and restaurants every morning."

All winners were residents of Illinois and received a year's worth of bread from Alpha Baking Company, bakers of beloved Chicagoland brands S. Rosen's, Mary Ann Baking and Natural Ovens.
