'Eat, Drink & Be Scary' at annual Taste of the North Shore Oct. 30

A dose of Halloween spirit brings a fun twist to the 28th annual Auction & Taste of the North Shore, coming Monday, Oct. 30, to the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel. The annual fundraiser for the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce features a variety of tastes from local eateries, along with auction items, games, and a raffle drawing with a $500 grand prize. Guests have the option to wear Halloween costumes as they enjoy this year's theme, "Eat, Drink & Be Scary!"

"This annual event is always a great showcase for local restaurants and caterers," said Kathi Quinn, executive director. "We encourage the community to come and explore all the different food options and exciting auction items. It's a fun opportunity to connect with friends, clients and co-workers. It's also a terrific way to get ideas for your holiday catering and dining."

The event runs from 5-7:30 p.m. Admission includes tastings from 19 food stations, drinks, giveaways, photo booths, and a costume contest. The evening also offers auctions, a Heads or Tails game with a prize of $250, and raffle drawings.

Participating restaurants include: Allgauer's on the Riverfront, The Claim Company, Culver's of Northbrook, Gail's Brownies, Grill House, Maharaj Indian Grill, Max and Benny's, Morton's The Steakhouse, Napolita Pizzeria & Wine Bar, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pear Tree - Hel's Kitchen Catering, Protein Bar + Kitchen, Renaissance Chicago North Shore, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Sarpino's Pizzeria, Sunset Foods, Sweetgreen, Sweet Ride Chicago and West Town Bakery.

Tickets are $45 in advance, $55 at the door. Advance registration is available at northbrookchamber.org, or by calling (847) 498-5555. Raffle tickets are also available for purchase; ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
