Mundelein-Vernon Hills Explorers Earn First Place Honors in Recent Tournament

The Mundelein/Vernon Hills Explorers recently had a great opportunity to not only challenge themselves but network with several other Explorer Posts in Illinois. Woodstock Police Department hosted one of the first local Explorer Tournaments in recent years and the MPD/VHPD Explorers performed exemplary. There were five competition-based categories in which the MPD Explorers participated. Mayor Steve Lentz and the Board of Trustees commend the team for achieving FIRST PLACE in three of the five categories.

"We are very proud of all our participants and were extremely impressed with their level of teamwork, critical thinking, as well as the dedication they have shown not only in this tournament but to the Explorer Post and to the Mundelein community when volunteering at community events and programs. Our membership is a testament to the beliefs and purpose of the Mundelein post. They are diligent, benevolent, and have integrity ... they are leaders," said Jason Seeley, Interim MPD Police Chief.
