Chicago man charged in Mount Prospect burglary

A Chicago man has been charged in a Feb. 7 burglary at a Mount Prospect business, police announced Thursday.

Armond Adams, 20, of 3142 W. Fillmore St., was charged Sept. 3, according to a news release.

The burglary at 2445 W. Oakton St. was reported at 1:51 a.m. Feb. 7. A 911 caller told police that five intruders fled in a black SUV.

Adams was identified through DNA found at the scene, and on Sept. 2, Chicago police told Mount Prospect authorities they had him in custody, according to the news release.

Adams, whose next court date is Sept. 29, is being held on $25,000 bail at the Cook County jail. He would need to post $2,500 to be released pending trial.

The burglary case remains under investigation.
