MAC Announces Auditions for A Christmas Carol, Musical Radio Play

The Mundelelein Arts Commission (MAC) is excited to announce auditions for the 3rd annual holiday production of the charming Charles Dickens musical story, A Christmas Carol. Directors Jon Matousek and Joyce Lee will hold auditions in the Village of Mundelein boardroom on Wednesday, October 11 and Thursday, October 12 from 7-9pm.

This year's show will once again be held as a Musical Radio Play, and will be performed once again in the Village of Mundelein boardroom, 300 Plaza Circle, Mundelein 60060.

"Please come and join us, even if you think you can't sing," says Matousek. "Chances are, you can, but in addition to performers, we will be seeking people to help out with set, props, and costumes." Lee adds that again this year, the accompanist will be Kai Funahashi, who takes the show to a new level of fun and musical joy. Kai will be there on Wednesday the 11th to help auditioners, who will be asked to sing a verse from a favorite song or jingle.

Rehearsals will begin with a read-through on Tuesday, October 17 in the boardroom, and a final rehearsal schedule will take into account actors' schedules. This year's show will coincide with Winterfest and will be presented the weekends of December 1-3, and 8-10.

The MAC welcomes all those who are interested in taking part in this time-treasured holiday classic. For more information, email jlee@email.mundelein.org or jmatousek@email.mundelein.org.
