Fine Line is hosting 'This Art is on Fire' fundraiser Sept. 23

On Saturday, Sept. 23, the Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles will host "This Art is on Fire" fundraiser under a big tent on the Fine Line grounds in St. Charles.

Founded in 1979, the mission of this unique space is to create a community where artists and those who love art can experience, learn and share.

This nonprofit art center offers adult year-round art classes from beginner to advanced in a fantastic range of art forms, including ceramics, glassblowing, weaving and blacksmithing.

The center is home to the Kavanagh Gallery, which annually displays six to seven gallery shows featuring local and national artists. and is always free to look around.

Fine Line is also home to the Dempsey Artisan Shop, a space for local artists to sell their art. The Dempsey is a great resource for the public to find one-of-a-kind gifts year-round.

Fine Line also holds an annual gift sale the weekend following Thanksgiving, which is a great place to begin your holiday shopping.

The center also provides art experiences for the Joshua Tree Community, a St. Charles organization that improves the lives of young adults with intellectual disabilities; and team-building options for local companies. A new event this year, the "Great Orb Hunt" combined art with nature, partnering with the Kane County Forest Preserve to hide 100 glass and ceramic orbs in Fine Line's Prairie and at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve.

"This Art is on Fire" will be 6 to 9 p.m. at the Fine Line at 37W570 Bolcum Road.

Tickets are $85 per person and include food, live music, and an incredible fire art performance. Tickets can be purchased at www.fineline.org. For questions, call (630) 584-9443.

There also will be live and silent auctions, craft beers, and spirits.

As the event takes place on grass, the dress code is casual, which Fine Line feels will make the evening a friendly, magical fall event.

"We chose to have this event at Fine Line because we are proud of who we are and what we provide to the community, and we want attendees to see what we offer, so what better place to hold this event than at our home," said Lynn Caldwell, executive director. " We know guests will have a great night at Fine Line."

This great night will help support this incredible place that has provided art and art experiences in the community for over 40 years. All are welcome, you don't have to be a member of the Fine Line community to attend this event.
