Chestnut Square at The Glen plants trees to celebrate 20 years

Chestnut Square at The Glen, a nonprofit, independent senior living community, celebrated its 20th anniversary in Glenview with a special tree-planting ceremony Aug. 7.

The event was attended by Chestnut Square's leadership team and board of directors, representatives from the Village of Glenview and Glenview Chamber of Commerce, and residents of Chestnut Square - including some of the community's founding residents who still live there after 20 years.

"It was especially meaningful to plant two new chestnut trees on our beautiful campus today," said Sunny Lopez, president/CEO. "The chestnut tree is a symbol of abundance and longevity, and as we reflect on our community's 20-year history in The Glen, we also look forward to continuing our mission of providing exceptional senior living and health care services in the years ahead."

During the ceremony, residents Lorrie Anderson and Fred Radzialowski, the chair and chair-elect of Chestnut Square's resident council, read poems written by fellow residents in honor of the occasion.

In addition, Glenview Trustee Tim Doron, Glenview Chamber Executive Director Meghan Kearney, and Chamber Vice President Laurie Jensen expressed their gratitude for Chestnut Square being an integral part of The Glen since 2003.
