The West Chicago Park District is launching WeGo VIP (Volunteers in Parks) to connect volunteers with opportunities in parks and recreation.
The park district offers many programs and events year-round; below is a list of current opportunities for volunteers to help bring fun to the community.
• Special events: Be a part of our exciting special events as a volunteer! This is your chance to contribute your time and enthusiasm to crafting memorable moments for families and friends across West Chicago.
From holiday celebrations and outdoor concerts to art festivals and cultural gatherings, our special events are the heart of our community.
By volunteering, you'll not only help ensure the success of these cherished occasions but also foster a strong sense of togetherness that makes West Chicago truly special.
• Youth Sports League Coach: The park district invites dedicated individuals to join as volunteer youth league coaches.
This is your chance to make a positive impact in the lives of our community's youth while fostering a love for sports, teamwork, and personal growth.
Whether you have coaching experience or a deep enthusiasm for a particular sport, be part of this rewarding opportunity.
• Park Restoration: The parks department invites community members to make a lasting impact on local green spaces.
Whether you have a passion for landscaping, conservation, or simply enjoy being outdoors, this initiative empowers you to be an environmental steward while connecting with like-minded neighbors.

The West Chicago Park District was established in 1972 and since has been committed to creating an enhanced quality of life through effective programs, progressive facilities and preservation of parks and natural resources.
The park district maintains over 400 acres including Reed-Keppler Park known as "the heart of the community" that houses the ARC Center, TreeTop Escape, Turtle Splash Water Park, Toucan's Hideaway, splash pad, ZONE250, two dog parks, skate park, picnic shelters, multiple sports fields, playgrounds, bike trails, path system and a nature sanctuary.
