$1 million bail for man in Naperville gun case
Bail has been set at $1 million for a man accused of being an armed habitual criminal.
Terrell Maclin-Dupree, 25, of the 3700 block of West Grenshaw Street in Chicago, also is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Naperville police were called at 12:55 a.m. Friday to a 7-Eleven store at 1773 N. Route 59 for a report of a man shoving a woman into a car.
Police said they smelled a strong odor of cannabis and asked Maclin-Dupree, who was in the front passenger's seat, to get out. Police said Maclin-Dupree then removed a cross-body satchel he was wearing and put it in the back seat.
Police said they found cannabis on Maclin-Dupree, and that there were plastic bags of cannabis and a loaded .22-caliber Jennings J-22 pistol in the satchel.
The DuPage County state's attorney's office said Maclin-Dupree is on probation for two gun cases in Cook County.
To be released pending trial on the DuPage case, Maclin-Dupree would have to post $100,000.
