Join League of Women Voters June 28 for recap on state legislative session

The League of Women Voters of Roselle-Bloomingdale welcomes state Sen. Seth Lewis (24th District) for a summary of the recently concluded Illinois state legislative session.

The Legislative Recap will be held on Wednesday, June 28 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the training room of the Roselle Fire Station, 100 E. Maple Ave. in Roselle.

"I appreciate the invitation to share an end-of-session recap with this group and appreciate the League's involvement in empowering people and promoting voter participation in this region," Lewis said. "I invite all members to attend and look forward to an interactive conversation about the bills that passed this year, and initiatives that came up short."

This event is free and open to the public. Register to attend via my.lwv.org/illinois/rosellebloomingdale.

"There are many good stories of bipartisanship that came out of the 2023 spring session, and it was a pleasure to work alongside colleagues from both sides of the aisle this year to pass meaningful bills in several issue areas," Lewis said. "In fact, the overwhelming majority of bills that pass in Springfield have either unanimous or strong bipartisan support. We need to celebrate these collaborative efforts while always working to be respectful of different points of view on the issues where we disagree."

The recently redrawn 24th Senate District includes parts of Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Elk Grove Village, Glen Ellyn, Itasca, Medinah, Roselle, Schaumburg, Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton, Winfield and Wood Dale.
