Kildeer Countryside School District 96 Board Seeking Applicants for Vacant Seat
The Kildeer Countryside School District 96 Board of Education is looking to appoint a district resident to fill a vacant seat on the seven-member board.
The board is seeking to fill the seat most-recently held by James Strezewski, who announced his plans to resign at the board's June 13 meeting. In his resignation letter, Mr. Strezewski cited increased work responsibilities and scheduling conflicts for his decision.
Mr. Strezewski was himself appointed to fill a vacancy on the board in May 2012, before winning election to the seat in April 2013. He served since then, as a member and chairman of the board's Finance Committee, leading the district in receiving the highest rating of financial recognition from the state of Illinois every year during his term of office, and in assisting with several capital projects. He also advocated for parent involvement in two community focus group events that led to the creation of the district's Guiding Coalition on Interculturalism and the Thought Exchange Partnership.
The Board of Education will appoint a member to fill the remainder of Strezewski's term, which expires in April 2025. This seat will be up for election in the Consolidated Election on April 1, 2025.
