Hooters employees help build home for a local family

Eleven Chicago area Hooters employees including managers, staff and corporate members volunteered their time to build a home for a family in Lansing on June 15. This was the first day build day that Chicago area Hooters locations participated in for Habitat for Humanity Chicago South Suburbs.

In addition to volunteering their time, HMC Hospitality Group made a $2,500 donation to Habitat for Humanity Chicago South Suburbs.

"It was incredibly fulfilling to put in a good days work with my teammates helping out a great charity. Hooters has a long tradition of helping the community and Habitat is a perfect extension of that effort. It allowed us to directly impact someone in our community that needs a helping hand. And doing that with your coworkers makes it twice as gratifying," said HMC Hospitality Group VP of Operations Steve Clement.

"Today was fun and insightful. I'm honored to be a part of Hooters and their partnership with Habitat for Humanity, you get a chance to physically get involved and give a helping hand. The feeling of stepping back and seeing your contribution is so rewarding," said Tatianna Rheams who works at Hooters on Wells Street.

"I enjoyed my experience with Habitat! The Site Supervisors, Dave and Keith, were great to work with. Can't wait for our next project with Habitat," said Hooters on Wells Street General Manager Jasmine Reames.

"Through our work at Habitat for Humanity Chicago South Suburbs, families gain access to long-lasting stability in their homes, which establishes generational wealth that will extend for decades to come. This secures a better quality of life for the family and gives them a place to grow and thrive. Partnering with organizations like Hooters & HMC Hospitality Group makes these dreams become a reality, by building homes for future homeowners and bringing the community together to create a greater outcome for all people," said Habitat for Humanity Chicago South Suburbs Executive Director Jennifer Taff.
