Aurora church to host brass band concert June 25

On Sunday, June 25, Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora will host "Brass Americana," a concert by Fox Valley Brass Band

The community is invited to the concert at 3 p.m. at the church, 14 N. May St.

Admission is free although donations will be accepted to benefit the church.

Director Victor Anderson will lead the band in American favorites. The concert is the third of three 2022-23 performances at Wesley.

The mission of the Fox Valley Brass Band is to perform high quality concerts of brass literature for the Fox Valley community while providing an entertaining and engaging cultural experience.

The group consists of high-level volunteer musicians from the Fox Valley area and beyond.

Members are chosen not only for their outstanding musicianship, but also for their willingness to support and create educational opportunities for youth.

The band performs a range of brass literature, focusing primarily on traditional British Brass Band genre.

It also promotes the new works of contemporary composers through both original compositions and transcriptions.
