Glenview Farmers Market returns Saturday

The Glenview Farmers Market, established in 1988, returns Saturday, June 17, for its 16th year at Wagner Farm.

The market runs from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday through Oct. 21 at 1510 Wagner Road.

In addition to vegetables and baked goods produced at the working farm, the roster of goods for sale includes bread, berries, honey, cheese, coffee, chocolates, doughnuts, meat and eggs, fruit, pastries, spices and sauces, crepes, lemonade, crafts and wood products.

On select Saturdays starting June 24, Griffin's Bottled Cocktails from Winnetka will be on hand.

Co-sponsored by the village of Glenview and the Glenview Park District, a weekly "Green Table" will have people from various "green" entities providing information on a variety of topics, such as sustainability and recycling.

The Green Table kicks off the 2023 season Saturday with Friends of Downtown Glenview, returns June 24 with Collective Resource Composting, and continues throughout the summer.

As well, a Community Table provides information on local nonprofits. Live entertainment by area performers also may be heard at the market.

Courtesy of supporters such as Glenview Bank & Trust, the Glenview Farmers Market supports the LINK Program. Participants in the program may purchase a variety of items, or double their purchasing power with vouchers for fruits and vegetables.

Parking is available in the Wagner Farm lots and also at Saints Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Road. Wagons will be available at the market for customers to use, and then deposit in designated spots in the parking lots.
