Mundelein-Vernon Hills Rotary awards $23,500 in scholarships

The Rotary Club of Mundelein-Vernon Hills recently awarded $23,500 in college scholarships to 10 college-bound seniors from Mundelein High School.

Scholarships were awarded based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service and financial need. Over the past 13 years, the club has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to students from high schools in Mundelein and Vernon Hills.

"Congratulations to these talented students on their achievements both in the classroom and in the community," said David Archer, the club's scholarship chair. "Each student embodies Rotary's motto of 'Service Above Self.'"

The 2023 scholarship recipients from Mundelein High School are: Alicia Brak, Evan Brown, Naomi Cabachuela, Mackenzie Czapla, Taiylor Egbert, Addy Irwin, Cadance Jafari, Kaylee Johnson, Amelia Niedbalec and Mariela Ramos.

The Rotary Club of Mundelein-Vernon Hills is one of 34,000 Rotary clubs around the world and consists of action-oriented business, professional and community leaders who support important social causes in Lake County and around the world.
