Northbrook Chamber of Commerce to celebrate Small Business Week

The Northbrook village board this week proclaimed Small Business Week. The Northbrook Chamber of Commerce & Industry is planning several events to celebrate the local small business community.

The chamber will host a coffee with a chamber ambassador from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, at 2002 Walters Ave., particularly useful for those starting new businesses and for member businesses who'd like to get help on chamber benefits.

Gary Know, the chamber's representative with the Service Corps of Retired Executives, a program of the Small Business Administration, will be at the chamber from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 3,. SCORE offers free counseling for startup and established businesses.

The chamber is hosting its First Friday Networking Breakfast from 7-9 a.m. May 5 at the Mission Hills Club, 1677 W. Mission Hills Road. Area professionals can join the breakfast, a trivia contest and breakout networking sessions. The cost is $20 for chamber members and $30 for prospective members. Registration deadline of May 2.
