Join wildflower walk at Dixie Briggs-Froom Nature Preserve May 7

Celebrate spring with a wildflower walk!

Join Friends of Dundee Natural Areas first wildflower walk at Dixie Briggs-Fromm Nature Preserve in Dundee Township on Sunday, May 7.

Meet at 2 p.m. at the Dixie Briggs-Fromm Nature Preserve's Eastmoor entrance, which is off Lawndale Drive in the Willoughby Farms subdivision. Families are welcome.

A moderate walk will take you through a beautiful landscape, up and downhill through hill prairies, along a streamside, and to overlooks of wetlands.

Find out how to spot Balsam Ragwort, Shooting Star, Bird's Foot Violet, and Violet Wood Sorrell among the sedges and grasses.

Learn about the land features of the preserve and how they came to be, and also how Dixie Briggs-Fromm, because of its intact original natural quality, was designated an Illinois Nature Preserve.
