Glen Ellyn's St. Mark's Church celebrates Feast of St. Mark and blessing of new spire with Bishop Paula Clark

On Sunday, April 30, St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn is celebrating the Feast of St. Mark, Confirmation, and the blessing of our new spire with a special visit from Bishop Paula Clark.

The Feast of St. Mark holds special significance for St. Mark's Episcopal Church, as it is the namesake of our beloved church.

This year's celebration will be even more remarkable as the church will also be hosting the sacrament of Confirmation, an important rite of passage for those who have chosen to publicly affirm their faith.

St. Mark's will also bless our new spire which replaced the previous one that was badly damaged during a storm in 2022.

Bishop Clark is the first woman and first African American to serve as diocesan bishop of The Episcopal Diocese of Chicago. She is known for her inspirational leadership and dedication to the Episcopal Church and will preside over the festivities.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church extends a warm invitation to all to join us in this celebration.

The event will take place at 11 a.m. at the church, 393 N. Main St.
