Warrenville Public Library to host open house April 23

As part of National Library Week, Warrenville Public Library is inviting the community to its open house on Sunday, April 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. This event, which is open to the public, promises an exciting opportunity to discover everything the library has to offer.

With the theme "There's More to the Story," the open house will showcase the library's non-book collections and inviting spaces. Visitors of all ages can enjoy demonstrations of science kits, household tools and tech gadgets like mobile hotspots, Roku streaming devices and photography accessories.

Guided tours of the library will be offered at 1:30 and 3 p.m. in English, with a tour conducted in Spanish at 2:15 p.m.

The library's new executive director, Jason Stuhlmann, will be on hand to greet visitors and talk about library resources. Adding an extra element of fun to the event, Director Stuhlmann will also showcase his talent for balloon creations from 2:45 to 4 p.m.

Director Stuhlmann is excited to be part of National Library Week activities at his new library. "The open house event is a wonderful opportunity to share with the community that, in addition to our books, DVDs and magazines available for checkout, Warrenville Library has an extensive collection of tech devices and kits that can be incredibly useful for home maintenance projects, schoolwork, travel, hobbies and more."

The library will also be hosting other activities throughout the week, including Family Storytime with Director Stuhlmann at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 25; a library tour at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 26; and a performance by Dave Herzog's Marionettes as part of Día de los Niños at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29.

Also, as part of the National Library Week activities, Warrenville Library District residents of all ages who register for a new library card will receive a special gift.
