Wayne Township appoints new trustee

Wayne Township announced that Paige Thoreson of Bartlett was appointed to the board of trustees on March 2.

The board looks forward to Thoreson providing a fresh and innovating perspective to the Wayne Township Board. Thoreson grew up in Elmhurst where she graduated from York High School with the class of 2009. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Community Health Education from Illinois State University, where she was also a member of the sorority, Chi Omega. As part of her degree program, she completed an internship at the American Red Cross as a Disaster Preparedness Intern which had her providing educational services related to weather and fire safety to the local communities in McLean County.

Shortly after graduation, Thoreson started at Superior Air Ground Ambulance Service, Inc. as a medical biller and coder. From there, she was promoted to a leadership position that oversees several aspects of the ambulance services provided to citizens in the greater Chicago area and surrounding suburbs.

Over the past six years in her current position, she has participated in several state-run ambulance organizations and is on the American Ambulance Association Medicare Regulatory Committee. The organizations play an important part in advocating for policy change in the EMS industry, so that our men and women first responders can continue to provide remarkable care to those Superior serves.

In March of 2020, Thoreson moved with her now fiancé to Bartlett. In fact, her and her fiancé got engaged in December 2021 at the Bartlett Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in Bartlett Park.

Thoreson looks forward to serving the township as a trustee to give back to an outstanding community and to those who make up the place she calls home.
