Glenbrook North bowling to host clinic for freshmen

The Glenbrook North boys and girls bowling programs will host a clinic for incoming freshmen.

Boys bowling coach Todd Rubin and girls coach Laura Ruesch will host the clinic for the Class of 2027 from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the Spartans' home lanes, River Rand Bowl, 191 S. River Road, Des Plaines. No previous experience in the sport is necessary.

Current eighth-grade boys and girls headed to Glenbrook North next school year will meet, learn and bowl with some of the athletes from this year's high school teams.

While the girls team didn't advance to their state meet this winter - senior Gabby D'Agaro reached the sectional - the boys did for the sixth time in the program's 12 years. The squad will return current junior Kai Nitzschke and sophomore brothers Josh Sachs and Nick Sachs, among others.

Parents also are invited to speak with the coaches to learn more about the Glenbrook North bowling programs. There is an interest form available at tinyurl.com/GBNBowlingInterest for students who are interested in high school bowling but are unable to attend the clinic.
