Q: Why are you running for this office, whether for reelection or election the first time? Is there a particular issue that motivates you?
A: I am running because I believe that being involved in the education system is important and investing in the future of students in my community.
Q: What is the role of the school board in setting and monitoring curriculum?
A: The board's role is to ensure that systems are in place to accomplish visions and goals when it comes to monitoring curriculum
Q: Are there curriculum issues within the district that you feel need particular attention from the board?
A: I feel that curriculums always need attention. Issues or not looking for ways of improvement is important.
Q: How do you view your role in confronting policy or curriculum controversies: provide leadership even if unpopular, give a voice to constituents - even ones with whom you disagree, or defer to state authorities?
A: I feel that listening to all sides and coming up with resolutions is best for this situation.
Q: Concerns are growing regarding a new resurgence of the pandemic. If another massive outbreak of infectious disease occurs, what have we learned from the COVID-19 pandemic that will guide your decision making?
A: We have learned that students suffered greatly during the pandemic not just with learning but also socially. Should there be another massive outbreak all aspects should be considered in this situation to come up with plans of action to ensure continued education.
Q: Describe your experience working in a group setting to determine policy. What is your style in such a setting to reach agreement and manage school district policy? Explain how you think that will be effective in producing effective actions and decisions of your school board.
A: My style to reaching agreements and manage school district policy would be reviewing the policy to determine what works and seek community input.
Q: What makes you the best candidate for the job?
A: What makes me the best candidate for this position is I want to make a difference in the education system and in my community, I want to bring students teachers and parents together and make affective changes to improve the education system. Being involved in making decisions for education is important so that students are successful and teachers have what they need to teach and parents are involved. In turn, it produces growth to the community.
Q: What's one good idea you have to better your district that no one is talking about yet?
A: Have more opportunity for students that would help students develop job skills in their career of interest.
