LWV of the Palatine Area hosting series of candidate forums

The League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area will be hosting a series of candidate forums beginning next week to help voters make informed choices in the April 4 election.

All forums will be run by trained, nonpartisan moderators and questions will be vetted in advance by a nonpartisan team to ensure they are fair and allow each candidate to present themselves in a

positive manner, according to the league

The forums will be recorded and made available on the group's YouTube channel via lwvpalatinearea.org.

The forums include:

• Barrington Area Library trustees candidates (virtual forum), 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 7. Moderator: Laurie Bergner of the League of Women Voters of McClean County. Register at lwvpalatinearea.org.

• Barrington Unit School District 220 board candidates (virtual forum), 10:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 11. Moderator: Kim Inman, co-president of the League of Women Voters of the Palatine

Area. Register at lwvpalatinearea.org.

• Palatine Township Elementary School District 15 board candidates, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, at Winston Campus School's multipurpose room, 120 N. Babcock Drive in Palatine. Moderator: TBA. Register at lwvpalatinearea.org.

• Palatine Schaumburg Township High School 211 board candidates, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, at Schaumburg Township District Library, Rasmussen Room, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg.

Moderator: Lisa Slankard of the League of Women Voters Arlington Heights. Register at lwvpalatinearea.org.

• Schaumburg Township District Library board candidates, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 18, Schaumburg Township District Library, Rasmussen North, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. Moderator: Katherine Sawyer of the League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area. Register at lwvpalatinearea.org.

• Hoffman Estates village board candidates, 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 18, Schaumburg Township District Library, Rasmussen North, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. Moderator: Katherine Sawyer of the League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area. Register at lwvpalatinearea.org.

The League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area will host a series of forums beginning next week for candidates running for village, school district and library district offices in the Northwest suburbs.
