Nominations sought for Schaumburg's volunteers of the year

Patricia Wilson, a TED speaker and former CEO of Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area, will be the keynote speaker of Schaumburg's 35th Volunteer of the Year Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, April 18.

Nominations for volunteers worthy of recognition in adult, youth and organization categories are due by 5 p.m. Monday, April 3. Nominees can represent social, civic, religious, community, school, and nonprofit organizations in the village of Schaumburg and Schaumburg Township community.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges. All nominees will receive a certificate of merit. Each of the three winners will receive an award.

The youth category is for nominees in junior high or high school.

The luncheon will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at Chandler's, 401 Roselle Road in Schaumburg.

Registration and payment to attend the luncheon are due by Sunday, April 9. Admission is $35 per person, but there is no charge for the nominees.
