St. Emily Students Have Spelling Success

St. Emily School held their Annual Spelling Bee on February 2 as part of the Catholic Schools Week celebration. Forty students from 5th through 8th grade competed. The top five finishers were: Yuliana Manzanares (7th grade), Rian Martinez (8th grade), Samantha Rivera (7th grade), Emma Turcut (6th grade), and Zachary Shapiro (7th grade).

All five of those students then competed in the Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee on February 4 at St. Emily. Rian Martinez and Zachary Shapiro took 2nd and 3rd place at that competition and will advance to the regional Spelling Bee in March.
