Woods & Wetlands Speaker Series 'The Des Plaines River'

The Woods & Wetlands Group of the Illinois Sierra Club is pleased to announce its March 19, 2023, Sunday Speaker Series. Michael Prusila, planning supervisor for the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, will be the guest speaker for a program about the Des Plaines River.

The Des Plaines River, which drains about ⅓ of the county's land area, has played an important role in the history and development of our landscape. Prusila will describe the geography, history and impact of the river, past and present, in Lake County.

To learn more about the current conditions of the river and gain some insight toward what the future holds for this important Illinois waterway, join the Sunday Zoom program.

Woods & Wetlands invites anyone interested in the Des Plaines River to join at 7 p.m. CDT on Sunday March 19. To receive the Zoom link, register at www.sierraclub.org/illinois/woods-wetlands.
