Huntley's Shepherd of the Prairie to hold Ash Wednesday and Lenten services

As the season of Lent begins, Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main St. in Huntley, will hold Ash Wednesday services at noon and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22. "Entering the Passion of Jesus" has been chosen as this year's Lenten theme.

Shepherd of the Prairie will conduct a weekly "Dinner Church" - a special Lenten midweek worship - to be held every Wednesday in March from March 1 through March 29 from 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"Dinner Church combines a meal and meaningful worship all in one," said Pastor Mark Boster. "We invite the community to attend and experience a new way to worship together as the Body of Christ."

The Lenten worship will begin with a meal of soup provided by congregation members, accompanied by song and scripture, a brief reflection by Pastor Boster or Pastor Ryan Mackey, and close with a song and prayer.

For further information on the Lenten midweek worship, call the church office at (847) 669-9448. To sign up and bring a soup to "Dinner Church," email donna@sotpmail.com.

Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, under the leadership of Rev. Mark Boster, senior pastor, and Rev. Ryan Mackey, pastor, has served the Huntley community for over 20 years.
