Registration underway for Chicago District Golf Association championships

Registration has begun for the eight championships and their associated qualifying tournaments, presented by the Chicago District Golf Association. This year marks the 110th year that the CDGA has conducted amateur golf competitions.

The slate is highlighted by the 92nd Illinois State Amateur Championship July 18-20 at the Bloomington Country Club; and the 103rd CDGA Amateur June 26-29 at Lake Shore Country Club.

There also are two tournaments serving mid-amateur players ages 25 and up, three for seniors 55 and older, and the eighth CDGA Four-Ball Championship, Aug. 7-9 at Glen Flora Country Club. There are qualifying tournaments associated for each.

In all, the CDGA offers 58 events from April through October. Anyone with a handicap of 10.4 or lower is eligible to participate in at least one of the eight championships.

The CDGA schedule also includes 21 United States Golf Association qualifiers as well as a CDGA Social Competitions schedule. The Social Competitions are open to golfers of all abilities, genders and ages.
