Letter: Sheriff's good judgment
I am a retired police officer, and I am writing to express my support for Sheriff Mendrick and his stance for the Constitution and against a runaway legislature and governor. He recognizes that his supreme duty is to the supreme law of the land.
Our state leadership has demonstrated that they have more regard for criminals than for decent citizens and do not even consider themselves to be constrained by their own rules of conduct, much less the law or their primary responsibility for the people's safety.
Sheriff Mendrick and the other sheriffs who are joining him are showing judgement and character that has become far too rare in a state that seems bent on suicide.
