Small plane makes emergency landing on I-355
A small plane made a safe, emergency landing on busy I-355 near Bolingbrook on Tuesday.
The single-engine Beechcraft G33 didn't hit any vehicles or tollway equipment when it came down about 2 p.m. in the southbound lanes near Boughton Road, Illinois State Police said, and no one was hurt.
The pilot made the emergency landing because the plane was experiencing mechanical problems, police said.
The pilot was the only person aboard the plane, the Federal Aviation Administration said. It was headed to Brookeridge Airpark, a private airport in Downers Grove, from Middleton, Wisconsin, police said.
FAA records show the aircraft is registered to Oliver B. Coolidge of Denver, Colorado.
No injuries were reported after a small plane made an emergency landing on I-355 near Bolingbrook. The landing happened about 2 p.m. Tuesday.
