Advocate Health Care nurses experience the Court of Dreams at the United Center

Advocate Health Care Nurse of the Year recipients were honored on Friday, Dec. 16, with an exclusive Court of Dreams experience at the United Center.

The nurses put their basketball skills to the test by participating in a scrimmage led by Bulls' radio play-by-play announcer Chuck Swirsky and Bulls legend, Bill Wennington. The crew then had a private banquet for dinner where they took photos and got autographs from Bulls players before attending the Bulls' home game vs. the New York Knicks.

Each Nurse of the Year recipient was recognized by their peers for nursing excellence and their alignment with the organization's nursing Professional Practice Model (PPM).

"Our nursing care model focuses on person-centered care with the overarching goal of helping our patients live well," said Margi Gavigan, regional chief nursing officer at Advocate Health Care. "Our Nurse of the Year recipients have particularly proven to advocate for their patients and serve as role models for their fellow team members."

Out of over 1,000 nominations, 31 Advocate Aurora Health nurses were selected.
