Holiday Promotions Encourage Shoppers to 'Find It in Northbrook'
With high-pressure sales tactics from big-name online retailers, it's even more important to shop now, and shop local. The village of Northbrook and Northbrook Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to help shoppers discover amazing products and great values available at local businesses. The community's new Shop Local campaign theme promises that whatever shoppers need, they can #FindItinNorthbrook. Watch for the following promotions to bring shoppers and Northbrook businesses together:
Illuminate Northbrook Retailer Promotion: The village of Northbrook will hold its second annual Illuminate Northbrook Hot Cocoa Stroll in downtown Northbrook on Nov. 18, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This fun family event features music, a winter light display, and free hot chocolate. Residents who donate a coat to the Rotary Club's "Coat Off Your Back" drive, will receive a commemorative Illuminate collectable mug (while supplies last).
This year, that souvenir mug will include a special coupon offering a 10% discount at participating Northbrook businesses, valid Nov. 18-23. Participating businesses are listed on FindItInNorthbrook.com, a website managed by the chamber with support from the village to promote all local shops and restaurants. Any business within the village is welcome to be listed; email info@northbrookchamber.org to be added to the list.
"Find It & Win" Holiday Contest: To encourage local shopping throughout the holiday season, the chamber and village will partner on a contest to engage residents through the Find It in Northbrook Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as free community text programs. Shoppers who spend at least $20 at Northbrook shops or restaurants between Nov. 25 and Dec. 23, can send in a copy of their receipts for the chance to win a $50 gift card in weekly prize drawings. More details about the drawing are available on FindItinNorthbrook.com.
Shopping locally for the holidays has a huge impact on local businesses and the community. For every $100 spent, $68 stays in the community. Local sales taxes are vital to preserving public services and schools, and having a vibrant retail sector enhances property values and the overall positive ambiance for residents and visitors.
