Hooters Calendar Tour in Chicago kicks off with assembling care packages for troops overseas

Several Hooters Calendar Girls began their 2023 calendar tour assembling care packages for armed forces on Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Hooters of Downers Grove. The care packages assembled at Hooters will be sent to troops overseas.

Care packages include personal hygiene items, snacks, 2023 Hooters calendars and personal notes of thanks from the Hooters Girls. This program is part of the Operation Calendar Drop initiative, which provides a way for guests of Hooters Restaurants to purchase a 2023 Hooters Calendar and attach a personal note of thanks to our troops. Through Operation Calendar Drop many of the Hooters Calendars are shipped in care packages to soldiers overseas and veterans organizations. This is the fifth year HMC Hospitality Group Hooters locations have participated in assembling care packages to be sent to military bases and countries throughout the world.

The community will have the opportunity to meet several of the Hooters Girls featured in the 2023 Hooters Calendar Thursday to Saturday, Nov. 10-12, in the Chicago area. The Hooters Calendar Tour includes over 15 Chicagoland Hooters employees including Iza Glinkowski (October 2022) who works at the Downers Grove Hooters location and Tanna Patino (December 2022) who works at Orland Park Hooters location. Joining the ladies from Florida are 2022 Miss Hooters International and Madison Novo (centerfold), Gracie Chamberlain (back cover) and Iliana Rodriguez (inside back cover). The autograph signings are open to the public.

On Friday, Nov. 11 at 8:30 a.m., the group will be volunteering at Holy Family School. Hooters Calendar Girls will spend time helping as teachers' aids. The Chicagoland Hooters locations have a long -standing relationship with Holy Family School through volunteering and fundraising. Since its inception, Hooters Wings for the Kids program has raised over $910,000 for Holy Family School from chicken wing sales at the Chicagoland Hooters locations.

"We look forward to having the community join us for the 2023 Hooters Calendar Tour autograph signings. A big part of our calendar tour is giving back to the community. The calendar girls enjoy spending time volunteering and reading to the children at Holy Family School. In addition, the group continued our calendar tour tradition of preparing care packages to send to military oversees to show them our appreciation," said Denise Williams, Chief Marketing Officer HMC Hospitality Group.

The calendar is celebrating Hooters' 40th Anniversary in 2023. The first Hooters Calendar was released fall 1985, two years after the first Hooters opened in Clearwater. All of the 200 ladies in the calendar work at Hooters restaurants across the country and were selected from thousands of candidates. The calendars are available for $14.99 at all Chicagoland Hooters locations and include $100 worth of coupons.
